Contact Snapper App Reviews

Doesnt upload to iPad contacts, text only doesnt allow saving

Good at scanning, but at least text only version doesnt upload info to iPad contacts. Description of text only in app purchase says it gives you access to all functions, but completing the purchase for $2.99 doesnt. I was offered sale price of $1.99 for text and photo version and accepted it. The sale didnt go through, so I bought text only version. Waste of time and money.

Your business card file

No more stacks of business cards. I hate when Im trying to find a business card and cant find it. Instead I use this program and take a picture of the business card and it scans all that information off of the business card into a contact folder. Just like your phone has contacts this app is the same! Just take a picture within seconds you have all the information on that business card first last name business name all the phone numbers emails and the address. Its so nice because I can just hit the address and it goes right to my GPS on my phone or if I want to call someone I just have to tap the number. Im also able to share contacts with other people. Its a must have app for business owners! 5 stars.

Does not unlock trial period after purchasing

Few years ago when I purchased the product it worked fine until the version expired. When I paid again few days ago it did not remove the limited scan token. That means I paid for the product and cant use it. I disputed the purchase.

Cannot save scanned cards anymore

I purchased this app a couple years ago and it worked great! They recently updated the app and now I cannot save scans and it acts like I need to purchase again. Make sure this bug is fixed before you buy.

Great tool

I use this frequently and have thrown away my Rolodex. About 50% of the time I have to make minor adjustments to either titles or companies but this is likely due to different fonts and layouts.

Easy to Use, Loaded with functionality.

I started scanning business cards in the 90s with special hardware and software. This app is a lot easier to use with much more in functionality. No complaints.

Good tool

Works pretty well. Editing is easy. Wish it would show the section of the image where it had ocr problem so I wouldnt have to switch tabs while editing. But thats a workflow issue. I still use it for all business cards.

Best bus card app Ive found available

So easy and has so much info. Plus it now syncs with my google contacts as well. They continue to improve algorithms and make the detection even better. Thank you!!!

Good app but wont let me save 2 addresses.

I was looking for a good business card scanner app and I like this one because it adds a note with the date to the notes of the contact so when I save my customers it helps a lot to see when it was created. As Im using it more and more, I noticed today that I had a customer with the business address and home address and the app automatically tries to change the addresses to the same thing using the internal map system that it has. Just wanted to throw it out there, because if youre trying to save someones information with two addresses using this app, it will not let you as it will try to change it to the same address in both fields. So far I havent found a way to bypass that feature so thats why wanted to leave the review. Its not really a problem because I can mow to find a contact directly in my phone but it wouldve been nice for its not the AutoCorrect.

I like this app

Im always storing business cards in my rolodex with the staple. This makes keeping track of contacts simple. Is there room for improvement of course there is still into addresses for one contact. Would be nice.

Contact snapper

I have tried many different business card scanning tools and this is the best one I have found. Many of my colleagues reached the same conclusion after doing their own independent trial and error testing.

Pay and pay again for the app...

After purchasing this app, and upgrade to a newer version you must purchase again.... Do not buy...

Ocr needs some work

I like the app.... Occasionally have to make corrections on fonts that arent straight forward, but its okay.

Works Perfectly

Scanning works really well, and the features included with the Address book such as export, grouped email or text, search, etc... are really great. Really worth the money

big step for me

Im liking the app because, being a mediocre typist, its saving me a lot of time. But, theres still a lot of clean-up. Much of that may be caused by people trying to be clever, or arty, with the design of their cards... where I cant even find the info. Its uncanny how accurate this app is with numbers though, even picking out which one is a fax. Not having tried other card scanning apps, Id still recommend this. Just be ready to follow up, check & edit your entry. The editing is probably best done once its all syncd into Contacts. Dont overlook the little extra features like note presets if your scanning a group of cards, say from a meeting. Some peculiar interpretations like caps after numbers... 13Th ? The save and confirm buttons arent intuitive, or quick to execute, so could use a little interface update there. Even with a few quirks, a keeper!

Contact Snapper is frustrating!

This app does a pretty good job populating data from a business card into defined slots for a straightforward business card, but it often confuses the person s name with the business name or misreads a few characters, so you really have to proofread carefully to see if everything matches. Its easy to crop the image of the business card. There are a lot of annoying glitches. You cant enter an extension with a phone number. Some members of a group have an identifying icon, while the icon is missing for some members of the same group. Sometimes for reasons I dont understand the app shrinks down the image of the business card into a tiny, unreadable image on the standard app-created business card form. If you create a contact without a business card, you cant add a picture of the card later. I still havent figured out how to send emails from the app, let alone group emails. Its a cool idea thats pretty clunky in execution.

Good app

Like that you can copy and paste from email signatures and pics of business cards. Only drawback is u have to check fields to make sure info is in right slot.

Great app

This app allows you to maintain and manage all the details of your contacts and view all those details such as a picture of your card both sides It creates an address book of all that information. I dont use the QR code function and maybe I dont understand quite how it works but when I try to use it it just start snapping pictures like crazy. But the rest of the app seems to work great. Update 7/2014: Still like the app and support is good. Would like the ability to duplicate contacts and edit for new contacts at the same location without a business card. Update 6/2015 Still consider this a great app. If a card is clean and simple, it captures perfectly. If it is arty and peculiar fonts, it has a harder time. If it doesnt capture correctly the first time, it often helps to turn the card 90° and try again. Its not as easy to edit the contact in app as it is in standard phone contacts. It would be nice if that function was polished up. All in all its a great app. Update 9/29/2016: Still a good app but the "group" function is very hit and miss.

Nothing but trouble

I can only say that I wasted $5.99 on this pretty useless app. The user guide is a joke. References to sync problems provide no useful information for resolution. After syncing with Google Contacts I often end up with 100% duplicates on Google. Dont do it.

Great little app

Most accurate app so far to capture business card info and fairly easy to use. Most importantly it syncs to gmail contacts! I had back one star because it still could be better at identifying business card info and the user should be able to select copy paste the unused text when uploading cards.
